Senator Chuck Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, highlighted the committee’s recent progress and challenges in processing President Trump’s nominations in a series of posts on December 11, 2025. Grassley reported on the number of nominees processed and called for additional nominations from the administration.
In a post at 16:23 UTC, Grassley wrote: “Judic Committee has been quickly &efficiently processing Pres Trump’s nominations We hv voted on 84 nominees incl the Attorney General+ the FBI Director+ 6 circuit judges+ 24 district judges +36 United States Attorneys”.
At 16:24 UTC, he referenced a recent report by a conservative think tank, stating: “Heritage Foundation recently reported that Judic Cmte has held hrgs for 96% of judicial nominations it has received which is higher than for any new president since 1980 I’d like to process even more judicial nominees but I’m waiting on the President to submit nominations”.
Grassley continued at 16:29 UTC, noting delays due to pending paperwork from the administration: “Like judicial nominees I’d like to process even more US Attorneys but I’m hamstrung waiting for background investigations +other paperwork from the administration that the Judic Committee needs to advance the nominees we haven’t moved already
ATTN WH; SEND MORE NOMS”.
The Senate Judiciary Committee plays a key role in reviewing and advancing federal judicial and U.S. Attorney nominations before they are considered by the full Senate. The committee’s pace of processing under Grassley’s leadership aligns with past periods when nomination rates were closely watched during transitions between presidential administrations.
