Congressman Zach Nunn, who represents Iowa’s 3rd congressional district, addressed several issues facing Iowans in a series of posts on December 16, 2025.
In a tweet posted at 19:43 UTC, Nunn discussed efforts to improve healthcare access in the state. He stated, “Families shouldn’t have to wait weeks or drive hours to see a doctor. That’s why we’re strengthening Iowa’s health care system by training more primary care doctors, growing the nursing workforce, and making sure quality, affordable care is available no matter where you live.”
Later that day at 21:26 UTC, Nunn turned his attention to housing insecurity among students. He wrote, “No student should have to choose between a college degree and a safe place to sleep. Proud to join @RepGregLandsman to expand housing access for low-income students. This is about giving every student a fair shot at success—regardless of their background or ZIP code.” These comments highlight bipartisan efforts in Congress aimed at addressing basic needs insecurities for students pursuing higher education.
At 22:42 UTC the same day, Nunn paid tribute to two fallen servicemembers from Iowa. In his words: “The tragic loss of Iowa’s own Sgt. Edgar Torres-Tovar and Sgt. Nate Howard reminds us that America asks much of her heroes. Edgar and Nate answered the call. They stood in the breach and put their lives on the line to serve others. They are remembered as brothers, friends,” underscoring the sacrifices made by military personnel.
Zach Nunn has served as U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 3rd district since January 2023.
