Senator Chuck Grassley, Iowa’s longest-serving U.S. senator and a member of key Senate committees, posted on April 15, 2026, about the impact of recent Republican tax policies and his engagement with Iowa students.

In a tweet on April 15, Grassley stated, “Over 25 million taxpayers hv used Republicans No Tax on Overtime provision This helps police officers + nurses + factory workers and was passed as part of Republicans Working Families Tax Cuts law”.

Later that day, he wrote, “Republicans Working Families Tax Cuts law is delivering 4 FAMILIES Over 34 million families hv claimed the enhanced Child Tax Credit + parents of 4+ million kids hv set up Trump Accounts 2 secure their child’s future”.

Grassley also noted his meeting with Iowa sorority students and alumni to discuss Greek philanthropy and related issues. On April 15 he tweeted, “Met with current students and alumni of sororities from Iowa 2 talk abt Greek philanthropy, recruitment & freedom of association rights https://t.co/RDfr0fD4aC”.

According to his official website, Grassley has served in the U.S. Senate for decades and brings experience from both farming—raising corn and soybeans in Butler County—and factory work as a sheet metal shearer and assembly line worker (source). He earned degrees in political science from the University of Northern Iowa and served in the Iowa state legislature from 1958 to 1974 (source). Grassley’s platform emphasizes bipartisan collaboration and pragmatic policymaking. He also assists Iowans with federal agency matters and whistleblower cases (source).
