Senator Chuck Grassley, representing Iowa, shared several updates on his Twitter account in mid-November 2025, ranging from personal condolences to policy commentary and sports congratulations.
On November 15, Grassley posted about the passing of Bill Knapp: “Barbara & I are sad to learn of the death of our friend Bill Knapp He served his country in WW2 Later in life he was a successful businessman & generous philanthropist to many Iowa causes Bill will be missed & the greater DSM area is better off bc of his talent”. Bill Knapp was known for his military service during World War II and for philanthropic contributions that supported various initiatives in Iowa.
The following day, November 16, Grassley congratulated Coach Petersen and the University of Northern Iowa volleyball team: “Congratulations to Coach Petersen/UNI VB for 3rd straight yr winning MoValleyConf undefeated Its 2nd time for coach”. The Missouri Valley Conference win marked a significant achievement for both Coach Petersen and the UNI volleyball program.
On November 18, Grassley commented on environmental regulatory changes: “Good news frm EPA this wk as Trump admin continues roll back of govt overreach w proposal of new WOTUS rules The Obama/Biden rule would hv govt regulated 97% of Iowa land Trump admin’s action is win 4 Iowa family farmers +common sense”. The Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rules have been a point of contention among policymakers. Previous regulations under the Obama administration expanded federal oversight over waterways, which critics argued could have affected a large portion of farmland in states like Iowa. The Trump administration’s proposal sought to limit this scope, a move supported by some agricultural groups who saw it as beneficial for family farmers.
Chuck Grassley has served as U.S. Senator from Iowa since 1981 and is known for frequently sharing updates related to state affairs, agriculture policy, and community events through social media channels.
