Senate Judiciary Committee advances judicial and attorney nominations

The Senate Judiciary Committee has moved forward with the nominations of four individuals for U.S. Attorney positions and three for federal judgeships. The committee’s votes took place on December 11, 2025.

David Clay Fowlkes was advanced as a nominee for United States District Judge for the Western District of Arkansas by a vote of 15-7. Nicholas Jon Ganjei was approved to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas by a 12-10 vote. Aaron Christian Peterson received a 14-8 vote to move ahead as United States District Judge for the District of Alaska.

For U.S. Attorney positions, Andrew Benson was nominated for the District of Maine with a 19-3 vote in favor. William Boyle’s nomination for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Richard Price’s nomination for the Western District of Missouri, and Darin Smith’s nomination for the District of Wyoming each advanced by a vote of 12-10.
