Democrats and Republicans have settled on a date for caucuses in Iowa, agreeing on Feb. 7, 2022.

As the "midterm" for federal politics, both parties will share dates for their 2022 caucuses. Following the caucuses, Democrats will hold county conventions March 26, district conventions April 23 and their state convention June 18 while the GOP will hold its county conventions March 12, district conventions April 23 and its state convention June 11, according to The Courier

“.@IowaGOP Chair @KaufmannGOP and @IowaDemocrats Chair @ross_wilburn announced the 2022 Iowa Caucus will be Monday, February 7th, 2022. #iapolitics," The Iowa Torch tweeted out Oct. 4.

Despite typical disagreements between Democrats and the GOP, both parties have agreed on the importance of holding their Iowa caucuses on the same day, according to The Courier.

With 2022 serving as a midterm election, there will be no presidential preference voting in either party during their caucuses. Instead, they will only have the option to make recommendations for the upcoming presidential nominating process in 2024, according to Radio Iowa.

Even with a lack of physical voting, Democrats are expected to debate over the fate of the caucuses in Iowa in addition to other dates on the presidential nominating calendar, according to Radio Iowa.
