Des Moines home prices rise in the second quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2018 in Des Moines rose by $4,300 while total sales decreased by 11.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2018, there were 1,368 homes sold, with a median sale price of $130,000 - a 3.4% increase over the $125,700 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 1,544 homes sold in Des Moines in the second quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Des Moines for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,488, approximately 1.9% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2018.
