State Reps. Brian Lohse (R-Bondurant) and Kristin Sunde (D-West Des Moines) recently served breakfast to the homeless at the Central Iowa Shelter and Services in Des Moines.
"It was an honor spending time serving breakfast at Central Iowa Shelter and Services with representatives from Altoona and Pleasant Hill,” read a post on Lohse’s Facebook page.
Lohse is a member of the Economic Development Authority Board.
The lawmakers' presence at the shelter was part of the Dec. 3 Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is an international movement that began in 2012, which seeks to change communities by motivating people to give, celebrate and collaborate, their website reports.
Lohse is an 18-year resident of Bondurant and the owner of Brick Street Market and Brick House Fitness. He served on the municipality’s city council for 10 years.
