Sen. Chuck Grassley calls on newly inaugurated President Biden to condemn the violent Portland and Seattle riots.
“I’m waiting for Pres Biden to condemn violence/looting/arson last two days in Oregon & Washington state,” Grassley wrote on Twitter.
The president has not yet released a statement on this as of Thursday, The Epoch Times reported.
The protest happened hours after the inauguration of Biden, Wednesday afternoon and was reported as a demonstration against the inauguration.
The Portland rioters wrote on a banner that they don’t want Biden, they are not governable and they “want revenge for police murders, imperialist wars, and fascist massacres,” according to news.
Rioters have proceeded to the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Oregon's Portland where they spray-painted it with anarchist symbols and shattered the windows.
One video showed broken windows in a Seattle-located Starbucks.
Seattle protesters were seen heading to Pike Place Market, smashing windows, kicking over garbage containers, and spray-painting buildings.
An American flag was set ablaze in the streets of downtown Seattle.
Portland and Seattle protesters were mostly dressed in black.
Grassley has recently written a follow-up statement on his Twitter
“As the sun sets 3 days after rioting/burning/looting began in Portland & Seattle I’m still waiting for Pres Biden &other leading Democrats to condemn these outrageous acts. Are they willing to condemn anarchist/Antifa violence?? I’ve condemned violence from both sides”
