Both will have offices at the DMACC Ankeny Campus
- Collins has been named DMACC Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Kepple-Mamros has been hired as DMACC Executive Director of Planning, Assessment and Data.

- Collins has served as Director of Online and Blended Learning, Associate Dean and Dean at Northeast Iowa Community College.
- Kepple-Mamros worked at Graceland University, where she served on the University's Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Assessment Academy Team and the Retention Committee, Assistant Registrar and later became Graceland's First Director of Institutional Research.
Kyle Collins is returning to Ankeny to serve as DMACC Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and will report directly to MD Isley, DMACC Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Deborah Kepple-Mamros has been hired as DMACC Executive Director of Planning, Assessment and Data. She will report directly to DMACC President Rob Denson. Both Collins and Kepple-Mamros will have offices on the DMACC Ankeny Campus.
“I am here to support, serve and collaborate with DMACC students, faculty and staff by assisting MD Isley and the academic mission of DMACC,” Collins said.
Collins started his educational career by teaching elementary school at Southeast Elementary in Ankeny. He then moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he taught sixth grade and transitioned into higher education with the University of Phoenix.
“I worked three years (in Arizona) and then moved back to Iowa, and worked as the Director of Online and Blended Learning at Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC),” Collins said.
Collins spent seven years at NICC and had the opportunity to serve as Associate Dean and then Dean, where he worked with online course development and quality and professional development. He said he is looking forward to learning more about DMACC’s large online programming that serves students from all 50 states.
“I was on the College Senate, Quality Faculty Plan Committee, Retention Committee and HLC (Higher Learning Commission) Taskforce,” Collins said. “My experiences and challenges in education drive me to make it better for today’s and tomorrow’s students.”
Collins earned AA and AS degrees from North Iowa Area Community College, a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix, and is working on his EdD in Community College Leadership from Iowa State University.
Collins and his wife, Nicole, have three boys: Noah, 7, Miles, 5, and Aiden, 1. They will be moving back to the area this summer.
Kepple-Mamros holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, Pa.; an M.A. in Later Medieval Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London; and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership, Higher Education, from Western Illinois University. In addition, she studied in a Ph.D. program in Early Modern History at Royal Holloway, University of London, and holds a certificate for teaching in higher education from the same institution.
She has spent her entire professional career in education. She began at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1998, teaching history, specializing in Medieval and Early Modern European history. After that, she taught at Millersville University and became involved in assessment and accreditation as a committee assignment. Kepple-Mamros also worked at Graceland University, where she served on the university's Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Assessment Academy team and the retention committee. She was appointed to assistant registrar in 2010 and became Graceland's first director of institutional research in 2014.
In 2015, Kepple-Mamros became the assistant to the vice president at Western Illinois University, with responsibilities for the Quad Cities Campus as well as accreditation and strategic planning.
“While at Western Illinois University, I was able to take part in the National Association of Branch Campus Administrators Branch Campus Leadership Institute, HLC's Persistence and Completion Academy, and the university's enterprise task force, among others,” Kepple-Mamros said. “I am excited to bring my experience in planning, assessment and data to DMACC as DMACC works to develop a new college-wide strategic plan.”
In 2020, she became the director of assessment, accreditation and strategic planning and was one of a core group of people who led the university through its 10-year reaccreditation visit.
Kepple-Mamros and her husband, Chris, have one daughter, Alexandria, and have relocated to Ankeny.
