City Observes Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

The City of Des Moines will observe the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, January 16, 2023. City buildings will be closed, but the collection of garbage, recycling and yard waste will not be delayed on Monday.All locations of the Des Moines Public Library will also be closed on Monday the 16th. The annual celebration to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day will take place at the Forest Avenue Library from 4-5 p.m. on Monday. Details may be found here.
