DES MOINES, IOWA —  Des Moines Parks and Recreation launches the Bucket List Challenge as part of the city's celebration of July's National Park and Recreation Month. The contest aims to encourage residents to explore and appreciate the city's diverse park destinations while giving them a chance to win an outdoor camping package.

The Bucket List Challenge is a free photo submission contest that invites residents to embark on an adventure through 17 destinations spread across the city. Participants are encouraged to capture their memorable moments at these locations and submit photos through July 31 for a chance to win.

""This will be a fantastic way to celebrate parks and trails. It’s the perfect chance to really get out to see the beauty and the recreational opportunities within these special places," said Jenny Richmond, Assistant Director of Des Moines Parks and Recreation. "The Bucket List Challenge not only encourages residents to discover new parks and trails, but also allows us to showcase the incredible built and natural places that make Des Moines such a wonderful place to live."

Des Moines Parks and Recreation encourages all residents, from avid adventurers to casual park-goers, to take part in the Bucket List Challenge. It's a fantastic way to celebrate July's National Park and Recreation Month, connect with nature, and create lasting memories in the process.

Download the Bucket List, submit photos and find Official Rules at DSM.city/ParkMonthChallenge. Follow Des Moines Parks and Recreation on social media channels for updates, park highlights, and inspiration throughout the month.
