Zach Nunn introduces new legislation focusing on transparency and biofuels

Congressman Zach Nunn, representing Iowa's 3rd district, has recently shared his legislative priorities through a series of tweets. Nunn, who took office in 2023 after replacing Cindy Axne, is focused on transparency in government spending, support for biofuel producers, and justice for victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

On January 24, 2025, Congressman Nunn emphasized the importance of governmental transparency. He stated that "The federal government should not be able to operate in secrecy, hiding costly spending decisions from public scrutiny. One of my top priorities is making our government work for the American people. That’s why I’m introducing new legislation to make our government more…"

Later that day, he highlighted his commitment to supporting biofuel production as a means to bolster the economy and achieve energy independence. In his words: "Biofuels are good for the economy, good for the environment, and good for families. I’m fighting to support biofuel producers to lower gas prices, boost our economy, and secure energy independence."

On January 25, 2025, Congressman Nunn addressed issues related to crime involving illegal immigrants. Reflecting on two tragic incidents involving Sarah Root and Laken Riley, he expressed his dedication to ensuring justice by co-sponsoring significant legislation: "Nearly 9 years ago, Sarah Root was killed by an illegal immigrant driving drunk. Laken Riley was killed just last year by an illegal immigrant with an extensive rap sheet. There must be justice for these losses.
