Congressman Zach Nunn, representing Iowa's 3rd district since 2023, shared several updates on social media on January 26, 2025. Nunn has been active in addressing various issues including military service recognition, childcare costs, and tax policies.
On January 26, 2025, Congressman Nunn welcomed home the members of the "1034th CSSB" after their year-long deployment. He expressed gratitude for their service in securing the Southern Border. "Welcome home, 1034th CSSB ! After a year-long deployment, these heroes are finally back with their families. Grateful for their service to help secure our Southern Border! "
Later that day, he addressed the financial burden of childcare on families by highlighting his support for the CHILD Act. This legislation aims to provide parents with more flexibility and financial assistance for daycare expenses. "Childcare is expensive - accounting for nearly 10% of a couples income. That’s why I cosponsored the CHILD Act to provide parents more flexibility and financial assistance to cover daycare expenses."
In another post on January 26, Nunn criticized what he described as "The Death Tax," which requires grieving families to pay double taxes when transferring a farm or business. He announced his collaboration with Representative Feenstra to eliminate this taxation policy permanently. "Right now, as a grieving family deals with the transfer of a farm or business, they’re required to pay a double tax on the assets, known as “The Death Tax.” That’s flat out wrong. I’m fighting with @RepFeenstra to permanently end this unfair double taxation!"
