Congressman Zach Nunn, representing Iowa’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has recently addressed two significant issues through legislative initiatives. Nunn, who previously served in both the Iowa House of Representatives and the Iowa Senate, shared his thoughts and proposals on Twitter.

On March 14, 2025, Congressman Nunn highlighted the growing threat of AI-generated scams, deepfakes, and cyberattacks targeting Americans. He emphasized the necessity for a national strategy to combat these threats by introducing a bill aimed at protecting the economy and national security. "AI-generated scams, deepfakes, and cyberattacks are already targeting Americans. We need a national plan to defend against these threats. That’s why I introduced a bill to combat AI-driven threats and safeguard our economy and national security."

Later that day, he turned his attention to adoption costs in another tweet. Drawing from personal experience with his wife during their adoption process of daughters Aliya and Jayna, Nunn discussed the financial burdens associated with adoption. To address this issue, he proposed the Fight for Families Act to enhance federal adoption tax credits."Adoption costs between $8,000 and $40,000. My wife and I experienced firsthand the lengthy and costly adoption process firsthand when we adopted our daughters, Aliya and Jayna. That's why I introduced the Fight for Families Act."

In a subsequent tweet on March 14th as well, Congressman Nunn reiterated his commitment to making adoption more accessible for families facing high costs. As a father of six children himself—including two adopted daughters—he underscored how many families find adoption financially prohibitive."As a father of six including two adopted daughters I’ve seen firsthand how complex & costly the adoption process can be...I introduced Fight For Families Act."
