Congressman Zach Nunn recently shared his perspectives on several pressing issues via social media. Representing Iowa’s 3rd district since 2023, Nunn has a background in both state politics and military service, having served in the Iowa Senate and Iowa House of Representatives, as well as in the U.S. Air Force.

On May 3, 2025, Nunn critiqued the federal broadband initiative, stating, "Biden's $50B broadband plan hasn't connected a single home, farm, or business to the online resources Iowans need." He announced a bipartisan bill aiming to secure an annual $650 million investment. The goal of this initiative is to streamline the process and deliver high-speed broadband access to every rural area in Iowa.

Also on May 3, Nunn acknowledged his military background and expressed his support for military personnel. In a tweet, he recognized May as Military Appreciation Month: "As a 20-year combat veteran and a Colonel in the Air Force, I know the sacrifice, commitment, and grit it takes to serve." He praised the bravery and dedication of those serving in the military.

In a rebuke of recent actions by the Labor Department, Congressman Nunn addressed concerns from small business leaders over perceived unfair practices. Nunn tweeted on May 3 regarding his direct communication with the Labor Secretary: "I've heard from our small business leaders about unfair Labor Department practices where Biden era officials target Main Street with fines up to 150,000 when they've done nothing wrong." Nunn emphasized the need to end these activities that he believes harm businesses.

Zach Nunn, born in Story City, Iowa, in 1979, continues to cater to his constituents' needs and express his views on national policies from his home in Bondurant. He is a graduate of Drake University, having earned a BA in 2002.
