Chuck Grassley, a prominent political figure and long-serving senator, shared his thoughts on social media regarding the loss of a friend and ongoing political discourse. Through his posts, he touched upon personal grief and policy advocacy.

On July 2, 2025, Grassley expressed his condolences for Gloria Mazza, highlighting her as "a friend to so many & a hardworking patriot." He mentioned her contributions to the Iowa/Polk County GOP and Republican women as well as her skills as an organizer. Reflecting on their shared memories with his wife Barbara, he stated that Mazza "will be missed after a hard fought battle w cancer" here.

Later that day, Grassley addressed concerns surrounding proposed Medicaid reforms in another post. He criticized what he described as "fearmongering disinfo" spread by Democrats and the media. Emphasizing the focus of the bill, he stated it "ONLY includes commonsense reforms," which require able-bodied adults without dependents to work or engage in volunteer activities or studies part-time to qualify for taxpayer-subsidized Medicaid here.

In a subsequent post on July 2nd, Grassley further elaborated on these Medicaid work requirements. He clarified that such measures ensure resources are not diverted from vulnerable groups like children, seniors, pregnant women, caregivers, and disabled individuals. Additionally, he reassured that those who meet the criteria of being able-bodied without dependents and working or volunteering at least 20 hours per week remain eligible for Medicaid here.
