Biodiesel producers, farmers, and renewable fuel stakeholders have expressed their support for the One Big Beautiful Bill, which aims to enhance Iowa's renewable fuels industry. The legislation was signed into law by President Trump on July 4 and includes an extension of the Clean Fuels Production Tax Credit through 2029. This extension incorporates the small agri-biodiesel tax credit to aid small biodiesel producers who faced operational shutdowns due to previous administrative delays.

The bill also eliminates tax subsidies for renewable fuels produced from imported feedstocks, protecting local corn and soybean farmers from foreign competition.

The Iowa Biodiesel Board and Iowa Soybean Association praised Senator Grassley's leadership in incorporating biomass-based diesel provisions in the bill. They noted that extending the Small Agri-Biodiesel Producer Credit provides stability for farmer-owned biodiesel producers, supporting rural jobs and soybean oil demand.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association highlighted Senator Grassley's role in restoring the small biodiesel producer tax credit for 2025 and 2026, expressing hope that this will help restart biodiesel plants alongside proposed blending levels by President Trump's EPA.

Clean Fuels Alliance America thanked Congress for providing certainty to biodiesel producers, especially small companies. They specifically acknowledged Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) for enhancing the Small Agri-Biodiesel Producer Credit.

The National Oilseed Processors Association commended Senator Grassley for improving policy effectiveness under section 45Z, benefiting U.S. farmers and biofuel producers while positioning the industry for growth with a focus on domestic feedstocks.

The American Soybean Association welcomed improvements to section 45Z within budget reconciliation legislation, noting its support of U.S. soybean farmers and domestic energy production while excluding foreign influences through measures like a North American feedstock ringfence.
