Clean energy advocates have expressed their support for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and his efforts to bolster the wind and solar energy sectors through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Grassley, recognized as a key figure in wind energy production due to his introduction of America's first federal wind energy tax credit in 1993, has played a significant role in advancing renewable energy initiatives. In the recent bill, he ensured a 12-month transition period for planned wind and solar projects post-enactment, allowing these projects to begin construction and qualify for extended tax credits. This measure is expected to stimulate short-term industry growth while maintaining feasible standards.

Additionally, Grassley was instrumental in removing a proposed new tax on wind and solar from the final version of the bill. Iowa relies heavily on renewable sources, with 60 percent of its energy coming from wind power.

Various organizations have voiced their appreciation for Grassley's contributions:

Alliant Energy praised Grassley's commitment to secure America’s energy future by phasing out clean energy tax credits over several years without imposing electric rate increases. They acknowledged his leadership in providing planning certainty for energy companies and supporting job creation.

MidAmerican Energy highlighted that improvements in the budget reconciliation bill would not have been possible without Grassley's collaboration with Senator Ernst. These changes are crucial for executing clean energy projects beneficial to customers across Iowa.

The American Clean Power organization commended Grassley for safeguarding jobs and ensuring an effective power mix in Iowa while emphasizing the importance of fair implementation of legislation by the administration.

The Business Council for Sustainable Energy thanked Grassley for facilitating a workable transition for various energy tax credits under the new law, which supports business planning and investment opportunities.
