Senator Chuck Grassley marked National Whistleblower Day on July 30, 2025, with a series of posts highlighting government accountability, medical achievements in Iowa, and efforts to improve transparency in higher education.

In his first post of the day, Grassley stated: "2day is natl whistleblower day Too often whistleblowers are treated like skunks at a picnic they r patriotic ppl trying to keep GOVT ACCOUNTABLE TO THE PPL" (July 30, 2025). Grassley has long been an advocate for whistleblower protections and has sponsored multiple pieces of legislation supporting those who expose wrongdoing within federal agencies.

Later that afternoon, Grassley highlighted a recent achievement at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He wrote: "Did u know an Iowan holds Guinness World Record 4 most premature baby? Last yr Nash was born at 21 wks Thanks 2 Univ of IA Hospital & Clinics work Nash is a healthy & happy 1 yr old Credit 2 docs & nurses 4 hard work Univ is home 2 highest survival rate 4 premature babies in USA" (July 30, 2025). The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics has gained national recognition for its high survival rates among extremely premature infants.

In his final post of the day, Grassley addressed concerns about college decision-making. He said: "Parents and students need 2 know all the facts when deciding if a degree is worth it Joined Sens Cassidy & Warren 2 reintroduce College Transparency Act 2 make sure basic info is clearly available as ppl make such big decisions" (July 30, 2025). The College Transparency Act aims to provide prospective students and families with clear data on educational outcomes and costs as they consider higher education options.

Grassley's remarks reflect ongoing policy debates around whistleblower protection, healthcare innovation for premature infants—an area where Iowa institutions have excelled—and efforts in Congress to increase transparency in college admissions and outcomes.
