Senator Chuck Grassley, representing Iowa, posted a series of tweets on August 18, 2025, addressing both his recent visit to IDT in Coralville and concerns about the placement of migrant children by the Biden-Harris administration.

In his first tweet, Grassley shared details from a local engagement: "Tour/Q&A at IDT in Coralville employing 1200 Iowans Learned about their DNA synthesis &genomics work + groundbreaking research issues: FDA approval process NIH grants health care reimbursement etc #99countymeetings https://t.co/n8YeIjdLkv" (August 18, 2025). The senator highlighted IDT's contributions to biotechnology and referenced regulatory and funding challenges facing the industry.

Later that day, Grassley released information regarding the handling of unaccompanied migrant children. He wrote: "2day I released HHS data tht exposes Biden-Harris admin 4 placing ovr 11000 migrant children w unvetted sponsors& not conducting home studies for ovr 79000 migrant kids Thankfully the Trump admin has launched an interagency initiative 2finally address these issues&end the abuse" (August 18, 2025).

Grassley followed up with criticism of the current administration’s response to his inquiries: "Biden-Harris admin refused 2 comply w my multiple investigative requests for this info NUMBERS DONT LIE Its plain as day the last admin mismanaged the program + put kids at risk" (August 18, 2025).
