Congressman Zach Nunn has used his social media platform to address recent developments in Perry, Iowa, as well as ongoing national legislative issues. In a series of posts on October 17 and 18, 2025, Nunn highlighted efforts by local leaders and private industry to support the community after the departure of Tyson Foods.

On October 17, Nunn posted: "Joined @MariaBartiromo, @MorningsMaria to highlight the incredible local leaders, private industry partners, and county officials who worked tirelessly to deliver new opportunities and a brighter future for Perry. Perry Strong — made in America. https://t.co/PgN8ZKxGTZ"

Later that day, he addressed federal legislative matters concerning military pay during a government shutdown: "Senate Democrats have now voted 10 times to deny servicemembers their pay. President Trump found a temporary solution to ensure paychecks made it out this week, but the real solution is simple: pass the House’s commonsense CR and reopen the government. https://t.co/STaBzP8qR2" The debate over funding for military pay amid government shutdowns has been an ongoing issue in Congress.

On October 18, Nunn provided an update on economic development in Perry following Tyson's exit from the area: "When Tyson left Perry, we got to work to make sure the community wasn’t left behind. That accountability work continues. And this week, we also broke ground on a new JBS facility that will bring 500 new jobs to the community. We’re not done fighting for Perry. https://t.co/hJAp1bazqW" Tyson Foods had previously closed its pork plant in Perry, impacting local employment and prompting public officials and business leaders to seek new opportunities for affected workers.

JBS USA is a major food processing company with operations across North America; its investment in Perry represents a significant effort toward economic recovery in the region after recent job losses caused by plant closures.
