Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has released details of 197 subpoenas issued by former Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team in the investigation known as “Arctic Frost.” The case, which began at the Federal Bureau of Investigation under President Biden’s administration, focused on former President Trump and involved a wide range of Republican individuals and organizations.

According to information provided to Grassley through whistleblower disclosures, the subpoenas were sent to 34 individuals and 163 businesses. They sought testimony, communications, and records related to at least 430 named Republican individuals and entities. The requested materials included communications with media companies such as CBS, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, Sinclair, among others; exchanges with members or agents of the U.S. Legislative Branch; interactions with White House advisors including Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino, Jared Kushner, Lara Trump; statistical data about donors and fundraising; as well as broad financial data concerning conservative figures and groups.

Grassley revealed these details during a press conference held alongside Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and other committee members.

At the press conference Grassley stated:

“Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus. Contrary to what [Jack] Smith has said publicly, this was clearly a fishing expedition.

“If this happened to the Democrats, they’d be as rightly outraged as we are.

“We’re making these records public in the interest of transparency and so that the American people can draw their own conclusions.”

A comprehensive list of organizations and individuals subpoenaed is available through documentation compiled by staff from the Senate Judiciary Committee. Copies of Jack Smith’s subpoenas have also been made public for review.

Grassley’s oversight efforts regarding Arctic Frost have included requests for hearings related to Jack Smith’s activities; demands for telecommunications companies and federal agencies to provide all records given to Smith; revelations about senior officials personally approving Arctic Frost's launch; findings that eight Republican senators were surveilled during the investigation; hearings addressing alleged political weaponization within federal law enforcement agencies; releases of additional investigative records involving high-profile figures such as Donald Trump and Mike Pence; concerns over supervisory misconduct at the FBI; statements regarding nominations for FBI leadership roles; and publication of whistleblower documents alleging coordinated efforts within DOJ and FBI targeting Trump in connection with electoral investigations.
