On November 5, 2025, Grassley posted about a meeting with an advocacy group, stating: "Met w Blood Cancer United 2 talk abt my bill Accelerating Kids Access 2 Care & pediatric cancer funding". Later the same day, he wrote about another constituent meeting: "Met w Steele family frm Waukee+ friends Discussed importance of passing Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act for medically necessary surgery 4 teeth, jaw bone, vision & cleft lip surgeries I’m a cosponsor of this bill".

The following morning, Grassley commented on the ongoing government shutdown by posting: "2day is day 37 of the Schumer Shutdown".

Grassley is a senior U.S. Senator from Iowa who has served in Congress for several decades. The Accelerating Kids Access to Care Act is designed to improve healthcare access for children with serious illnesses. The Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act aims to mandate insurance coverage for medically necessary surgeries related to congenital anomalies such as cleft lips and palates. Government shutdowns occur when Congress fails to pass appropriations bills or continuing resolutions to fund federal agencies, leading to partial closure of government operations until funding is restored.
