Cost of college went up for all students at Drake University

Tuition and fees rose 6 percent for 2018-19 at Drake University, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Iowa students paid $41,396 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $2,334 more than the $39,062 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 758 students received grants or scholarships totaling $18.3 million and 424 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (4,869), 2,959 students used grants or scholarships totaling $63 million, and 1,551 students took out $11.6 million in federal student loans.
