City of Des Moines issued the following announcement.

Detail: Building a Bat Box may not have been on your bucket list before but, it should be now. Bats are an interesting animal that you probably have living in your neighborhood. Come to this event and you will learn about the bats that live in Iowa and then build a bat box to take home with you.
This program is for all ages but anyone under 12 is required to have an adult with them. We will start the program inside talking about bats, then if conditions are good we will step outside to look for flying bats.
The final step of the program will be when you will put together a Bat Box that you can use at your own home or even use it as a gift for someone special to you.
