No. 4 Penn State's recent 23-20 loss to the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes ended a five-game winning streak, and saw senior quarterback Sean Clifford injured early in the second quarter. Clifford's situation is still unknown.

The Hawkeye comeback came after falling behind by two touchdowns. This sparked celebration by spectators on the field, and speculation by fans on where Iowa stands as a team.

“Iowa is good, not a barn burner. They were gonna lose to Penn State by 20 if not for QB injury," Frank A. DeWitt III tweeted.

The Hawkeyes are on a six-game winning streak, having not suffered a single loss all season, putting them at the top of the Big 10 West. The Nittany Lions have fallen to fourth in the Big 10 East, with their only loss for the season coming against Iowa.

The extent of Clifford's injury was unknown as he exited the game, but he fell during a third-down pass early in the second quarter, according to ESPN. He was initially evaluated at the Penn State medical tent, but then was sent to the locker room for further attention. When Clifford returned to the bench after the half, he stayed there.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Penn State head coach James Franklin has not been forthcoming with any details regarding Clifford's injury, nor would he talk about who will be quarterbacking for the Nittany Lions when they face Illinois on Oct. 23.
