After their historic win over Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday, the Hawkeyes move up in the AP poll and acquire the highest ranking since 1985.

"And as we thought, the #Hawkeyes also moved up to #2 in the AP Poll. Loftily territory for an Iowa Football Team. (PSU drops to #7)," tweeted Hawkeyes Mic.

This was the first time in more than 30 years that two top-5 teams played against each other at Kinnick Stadium.

The final score of the game was 23-20, with victory for the Hawkeyes. This was the 12th straight win for the team, which made it the longest win streak ever for the 2015 Big Ten West champion team.

Students and fans joined quarterback Spencer Petras on the field at the end of the game to celebrate the victory.
