The City of Des Moines is sharing with the world a unique new live view of the downtown skyline and other downtown attractions.
The City of Des Moines has installed a skycam on top of City Hall at 400 Robert D. Ray Drive that is continuously streaming on the City of Des Moines YouTube channel.
City staff captured a timelapse of the first early sunset after the Daylight Savings time and will use the camera to capture and share video and timelapses of major weather systems as they pass through the downtown area and events in the area.
The camera will also provide live views of snow removal efforts downtown, the Women of Achievement Bridge, Brenton Skating Plaza and the Capitol Dome.
The camera is available to view 24/7 at DSM.city/SkyCam and also broadcasts regularly on DMTV (Mediacom Channel 7).
