Congressman Zach Nunn, representing Iowa’s 3rd district, recently shared insights on various initiatives aimed at enhancing workforce development and healthcare access. On February 9th and 10th, 2025, he took to social media to discuss efforts related to apprenticeships, STEM education, and healthcare in rural communities.

On February 9th, Nunn highlighted the importance of skilled workers and apprenticeships in meeting high demand. He noted his engagement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) of Central Iowa to explore ways to expand hands-on learning opportunities. "Skilled workers are in high demand, and apprenticeships open doors to great careers. This week, I joined @IBEW of Central Iowa to discuss expanding hands-on learning and workforce development opportunities!"

Later that day, Nunn discussed his conversation with engineering deans from Iowa State University and the University of Iowa about supporting future innovators. He emphasized the state's role in advancing STEM education and strengthening workforce pipelines. "I had a great conversation with the engineering deans from @IowaStateU and @uiowa about how we can support the next generation of innovators in Iowa. From expanding STEM education to strengthening workforce pipelines, Iowa is at the forefront of innovation."

On February 10th, Congressman Nunn addressed healthcare challenges faced by rural communities due to a shortage of doctors. He announced his Train More Primary Care Doctors Act as a solution for placing more physicians where they are most needed. "Every family deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare. But with a growing doctor shortage, rural communities are being left behind. My Train More Primary Care Doctors Act will help get more physicians where they’re needed most."
