Congressman Zach Nunn, representing Iowa's 3rd district since 2023, has recently shared several initiatives through his social media platform. Nunn, who succeeded Cindy Axne and has a background in both the Iowa House of Representatives and Senate, is actively involved in bipartisan efforts to address issues ranging from retirement security to affordable housing.
On June 3, 2025, Congressman Nunn announced his intention to introduce a bipartisan resolution with Representative Pettersen. The resolution aims to recognize June as National Annuity Awareness Month. He stated that "Iowans deserve peace of mind in retirement. That’s why I’m introducing a bipartisan resolution with @RepPettersen to recognize June as National Annuity Awareness Month—highlighting tools like annuities that turn savings into security for working families."
Later that day, at 21:30 UTC, Nunn reported on his participation in a groundbreaking ceremony for an affordable housing project in Columbus Park with the Neighborhood Finance Corporation. He emphasized his commitment to making homeownership more accessible by saying "Yesterday, I joined the Neighborhood Finance Corporation to break ground on a new affordable housing project in Columbus Park. I'm leading bipartisan efforts to expand access to housing, and I'll keep fighting to make homeownership achievable for every Iowan."
In another post dated June 4, 2025, at 00:41 UTC, Nunn addressed concerns regarding the planned closure of Ottumwa’s Job Corps campus by the Department of Labor (DoL). After advocating against what he described as an "unworkable timeline," he managed to secure an extension until the end of June. He remarked " The Dept. of Labor planned to close Ottumwa’s Job Corps campus on an unworkable timeline. After pushing back, and help from Iowans on the ground, I helped secure an extension through end of June." His efforts are now focused on holding the DoL accountable for ensuring continuity for over 200 students.
Zach Nunn was born in Story City, Iowa in 1979 and currently resides in Bondurant. He graduated from Drake University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.
