Congressman Zach Nunn has recently taken to social media to discuss a variety of pressing issues. Through his posts, he addresses legislative measures aimed at defining regulatory roles in the digital asset space, efforts to support law enforcement and election integrity in Washington D.C., and concerns over biosecurity threats linked to foreign actors.
On June 10, 2025, Congressman Nunn emphasized the need for clear regulatory guidelines for digital innovators. He highlighted Iowa's longstanding tradition of having defined rules for its agricultural sectors, stating that "The CLARITY Act delivers just that, clearly defining SEC vs. CFTC roles to protect innovation and ensure U.S. leadership in the digital asset space."
Later that day, Nunn expressed concern over rising crime rates and changes in voting rights within Washington D.C. In a post made on June 10, 2025, he stated that "D.C. is failing its citizens. Violent crime is up 40%, and foreign nationals can now vote in local elections." He added that Congress had acted using its oversight authority to aid the D.C. police force and enhance election integrity.
In another post from June 10, 2025, Congressman Nunn addressed a security issue involving an attempt by individuals linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to smuggle a biological agent into the United States. He remarked that "Foreign agroterrorism is a real and rising threat." To combat this, he is advocating for updates to existing biosecurity laws to improve detection and response capabilities.
