Congressman Zach Nunn has recently addressed several policy issues through a series of posts on his official X account, including animal welfare, tax relief for small businesses, and support for law enforcement. The statements were made between August 28 and August 29, 2025.

On August 28, 2025, Nunn expressed support for the Greyhound Protection Act alongside Representative Carbajal. He stated: "Man's best friend shouldn't be locked up for 23 hours a day, only to be drugged up and forced to race when they finally make it out of the cage. Proud to join @RepCarbajal on the Greyhound Protection Act to ban the inhumane practice of greyhound racing in all 50 states."

Later that same day, Nunn discussed economic policy aimed at supporting local businesses in Iowa. In his post he wrote: "Iowa’s economy runs through Main Street. That’s why we locked in tax relief for small businesses so employers can invest, grow, and hire without worrying about Washington raising their bill."

On August 29, Nunn highlighted challenges faced by law enforcement officers in Iowa due to staffing shortages. He shared: "Sheriff Keith Davis sees Iowa’s police shortage firsthand. His officers are working longer shifts and taking more risks to keep our communities safe. Sheriff Davis explains what No Tax On Overtime means for the officers who show up for Iowa every day."

The Greyhound Protection Act referenced by Congressman Nunn is part of ongoing legislative efforts aimed at banning greyhound racing nationwide—a practice criticized by animal welfare advocates as cruel due to extended confinement and frequent drugging of dogs.

In addition to animal welfare measures, Congressman Nunn emphasized recent state-level initiatives designed to provide tax relief for small businesses in Iowa. These policies aim to help business owners reinvest in their operations without increased financial pressure from federal taxes.

Law enforcement agencies across Iowa have reported ongoing staffing shortages that result in longer shifts and increased responsibilities for existing personnel. The "No Tax On Overtime" proposal mentioned by Sheriff Keith Davis seeks to address these concerns by providing financial incentives or protections related to overtime pay.

Congressman Zach Nunn represents Iowa's Third Congressional District and has prioritized local economic development as well as public safety initiatives during his tenure.
