On November 12, Grassley commented on the recent government shutdown, attributing its impact to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. He stated, "Reports point out the longest govt shutdown in history/SCHUMER SHUTDOWN will lv a mark on the economy Lost wages hurts economy + shutdown hits consumer confidence The needless &damaging Schumer Shutdown hurt the American ppl for 43 days & could cause SCHUMER SLUMP in the ECONOMY" (November 12, 2025).

The following day, Grassley reported on a meeting at Cambridge Technologies in Sioux Center as part of his #99countymeetings initiative. Later that evening, he also shared a personal note about dining locally: "Dinner: ham & cheese omelet w pancakes and coffee at the Sioux County Livestock Co and it was really good #99countymeetings" (November 13, 2025).
